Cloudera has introduced Anywhere Cloud, a new hybrid data and AI platform designed to help enterprises run production AI applications across public clouds, private data centres and sovereign infrastructure without forcing them to move their data.
The launch comes as businesses look to take AI projects beyond the experimentation stage. However, fragmented infrastructure, complex migrations and increasing data sovereignty requirements continue to make large-scale AI deployment challenging.
Cloudera Anywhere Cloud aims to provide a consistent cloud-like experience across different environments through a common control plane. This allows organisations to deploy and manage data and AI workloads based on their regulatory, business, cost or performance requirements while keeping sensitive data in its preferred location.
Architectural & Governance Capabilities
A key focus of the platform is bringing AI workloads closer to enterprise data instead of requiring organisations to relocate information to a specific cloud environment. The modular architecture also supports technologies such as Spark, Kafka and Trino, along with open-source and partner tools.
The platform includes an agentic copilot that can use natural-language instructions to assist with data workflows and infrastructure operations. Cloudera has also placed a strong emphasis on governance, using a centralised zero-trust framework to support consistent security, compliance and data controls across distributed environments.
With support for open standards, including Apache Iceberg and the Polaris catalog, Anywhere Cloud is designed to improve interoperability and reduce the complexity of connecting multiple data platforms.
