As enterprises accelerate their adoption of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity is becoming an increasingly important part of the conversation. Against this backdrop, NTT DATA and Palo Alto Networks have announced a multi-year global strategic alliance aimed at helping organisations embrace AI while strengthening security, governance and cyber resilience.
The partnership will bring together Palo Alto Networks’ AI-driven cybersecurity technologies with NTT DATA’s consulting, engineering and managed services expertise. Together, the companies are targeting $1 billion in joint business by the end of 2029.
A key focus of the alliance will be helping businesses manage the growing security challenges associated with AI. The collaboration will support areas such as AI governance, autonomous security operations, identity protection, Zero Trust frameworks, secure cloud environments and the modernisation of firewall infrastructure.
More than 2,000 certified professionals are expected to support the initiative, while closer engineering collaboration could give NTT DATA earlier access to emerging platform capabilities. The initial industry focus includes financial services, healthcare, manufacturing and the public sector.
As AI transforms the way organisations operate, it is also changing the threat landscape. This partnership reflects a broader shift in the enterprise technology market: companies are no longer looking at AI adoption and cybersecurity as separate priorities. Instead, secure, well-governed and resilient AI systems are becoming essential for businesses looking to scale the technology with confidence.
